Blue Running Through His Veins…

Dad told me to #KeepWriting - so this one is about him. One of the reasons I started #MyWorld was to create somewhere I could think out loud, capture memories and leave little pieces of our family story behind for Alfie and Betsy. This is one of those posts. Read it here: https://cmls.world/2026/09/18/blue-running-through-his-veins/ ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’”#ThisOnesForDad #KeepWriting #KeepingMemoriesAlive

This One’s For Dad…

Last year I ran the Great South Run for Betsy. This year I'm doing it for Dad. If you've followed #MyWorld for a while, you'll know that running and challenge events have become my way of creating positive change from difficult situations. Last year every mile was for #RunForBoo. This year, every mile will be in memory of someone who meant the world to me - my Dad. Navigating the Menopause ๐Ÿงญ

This time last year, I started my menopause journey, aged 46. I was all over the place, emotionally exhausted and physically knackered not really understanding who I was anymore. But when the penny finally dropped that I was perimenopausal, there was so much to talk about but not so many people that wanted to talk to me about it. If it doesn't give you the 'ick' you can hear my story here: https://cmls.world/navigating-the-menopause/ #TimeToTalk #MenopauseAwarenessMonth #BreakTheStigma #MenopauseMatters ๐Ÿงญ๐Ÿ“–

Madeira – My Happy Place!

Iโ€™m just returning from my latest holiday to Maderia, feeling sad and thinking about when I will next get to go back to this beautiful Portuguese island. To me, itโ€™s like an escape route - a hidden gem in the Atlantic ocean with exotic fruit hanging from trees such as bananas, lemons and avocados, vibrant flowers and of course the sweet taste of Madeira wineโ€ฆ Read my latest adventure to Maderia here: https://cmls.world/2025/06/18/madeira-my-happy-place/ ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Dyslexia – My Super Power!

It's Dyslexia Awareness Week 2024 and this yearโ€™s theme is โ€œWhatโ€™s Your Story?โ€. I'm happy to say my hidden #superpower is being dyslexic - hidden because since university days, I haven't spoken or wanted to talk much about it. So why now am I talking about dyslexia? I think, sadly it's only now because neurodiversity in the work place is being talked about. So what would I say to any adult in the workplace who has dyslexia? Embrace it and re-visit your #SuperPower again.
